The Constitution to the United States of America

​What is the Constitution to you?  What does it mean to you?   I see a lot of Americans who don't think much about it, who believe it to be not much more then just another set of rules that can be changed and manipulated by our leaders as they see fit.

But it's not!  It is the ultimate guardian of our rights and freedoms.  It can not, contrary to the understanding of some, be changed by congressional decree or an executive order.  It does not change over time, it does not "grow" with popular ideas or trends.  Without going through the process of amending it, the Constitution is the same as it always has been.

Throughout its history the Constitution has been used only one single time to specifically restrict the American people.  And the one time it did, prohibition, it was amended back to the way it was.

The Constitution is not rules for the people, it is rules for the government!  It is our agreement with the government for us to allow it to exist.
